The child does not have to struggle to get the scissors open because they just pop up! Have you ever seen a small child use a regular pair of children's scissors? They have one handle in the left hand one in the right so that they can pull the scissors open. Crafts time is now much more fun! I ordered two and I'm giving the second one to our goddaughter who is 4 months younger than my son.
